How Do I Create A Search Notification?

How do I create a search, save it, then set up email notifications?

Answer

Most of our databases offer the ability to create a search, save it, and receive notifications when new articles are published related to that search.

For example - EBSCO. First, you will need to create a personal account. Then when doing a search, you'll see the link for Create Alert:

Select the 'Create Alert' link. If you are not already signed into your personal account, you'll see the sign in link:

You have the option to adjust the frequency and result format. Select the 'Save Alert' button when finished.

Below are two databases that you can save searches and create alerts - EBSCO and Ovid. Many individual journals allow you to set up email alerts as well. Be sure to check our Publication Finder to see which journals we subscribe to.
